  • Ginger Garlic Paste- 1.5 tsp

Whole Spices:

  • Cinnamon- 2
  • Black Peppercorns- 10

Other Ingredients:

  • Whisked curd/plain yoghurt- 4 tbsp
  • Crushed Pepper- 1/4 tsp
  • Green Chillies, slit- 4
  • Garam Masala Powder- 1/4 tsp
  • Oil- 3 tbsp
  • Butter- a dollop (1 tbsp)
  • Coriander leaves, finely chopped- 1 tbsp

Process:

Marinate the chicken pieces with crushed black pepper, lemon juice, salt, yoghurt and ginger garlic paste and keep aside for 1 hour.

Next, heat the oil and butter in a flat pan and add all the whole spices. Let them splutter till you get the nice aroma of whole spices. Add the marinated chicken and fry over high heat for 1 minute. Flip the chicken pieces once they are slightly brown. Fry for another 2-3 minutes, turning the pieces several times until they are evenly brown. Add the rest of the marinade and cook over medium heat for another 5 minutes. Now reduce the heat to a minimum, add the whisked curd, 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper, green chillies and mix everything well. Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes and stir it occasionally. Cook until the liquid is almost dry and the chicken is tender. Now, sprinkle some Garam Masala powder, give it a final stir for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh, finely chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with Roti or Paratha.

Procured at a scientifically reared farm in a completely humane and hygienic manner, boneless chicken from Haringhata® can be used to make this recipe. While lemon is a great source of Vitamin C, pepper is rich in vitamins A and C, potassium, folic acid, and fibre along with some antimicrobial properties. Pepper is also known for its weight loss properties. Goodness of all these ingredients combining with the protein-rich chicken is sure to make this dish a power-packed and delicious option for lunch or dinner.
