CLART -Providing Amenities for Research

Established on 29th December 2017, the Centre for Laboratory Animal Research and Training (CLART) [erstwhile State Centre for Laboratory Animal Breeding] under West Bengal Livestock Development Corporation Ltd. at Buddhapark, Kalyani, Nadia, West Bengal which is established for aiming to “Research for education purpose, Research for commercial purpose, Breeding for in-house use and Breeding for the purpose of trade on small animals” under the CPCSEA of Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, GOI very recently.

The objectives of CLART includes:

  • Breeding Laboratory animals for purpose of trading.
  • Promoting sympathetic care of laboratory animals used in biological, medical and behavioral research and experimentation.
  • Providing amenities of research for Commercial purpose
  • Providing avenues for production of Hyper-immune Plasma and Serum
  • Provide technical knowhow to higher study aspirants in the area of biological science that will enhance scope in the quest of advancement of biological knowledge that is relevant to humans and animals.

All the laboratory animals of CLART are being used for experimentation in different aspects of physiology, pathology, immunology, oncology and neuroscience, which are monitored by specially designed software and digital identification system.
